Victoria

Victoria - the "City of Gardens". This intimate, sophisticated City is the vacation capital of Canada and the premiere tourist spot in the Pacific Northwest. Victoria is situated on the southern tip of Vancouver Island and sparkles in one of Canada's mildest climates. This area is the sunniest spot in the province and the gentlest in the country in terms of climate, environment, and lifestyle. Victoria's unique character is deeply rooted in its 150-year history -- a history full of colourful people and fascinating tales. The city's British colonial heritage is still very much in evidence, but contemporary Victoria has a distinctly Pacific Northwest flavour. Today, Victoria is best known as the Capital City of British Columbia and as a world-renowned tourism destination. One of the most visitor-friendly cities anywhere, the one-time colonial outpost is alive with cosmopolitan dining, superb shopping, a colourful nightlife and a full complement of cultural offerings.

Abbeymoore Manor, described by Frommers guidebook as "one of the best B&B's you'll find", is located in Victoria's mansion district of Rockland. Just a short hop from downtown, this friendly B&B is an ideal place from which to enjoy the many sights and experiences of BC's city of gardens.

Victoria's Fairholme Manor B&B is a newly restored 110 year old Italianate mansion located adjacent to the gardens of the Lieutenant-Governor's house in the lush Rockland area of Victoria, a 15 minute walk to the ocean or to downtown, and a 15 minute drive to the US ferries.

Andersen House Bed and Breakfast. Bounded on three sides by water and by the city's favourite park to the east, our neighbourhood of James Bay would take less than twenty minutes to traverse on foot but within it and close by is a great deal of what attracts people to Victoria.

Villa Marco Polo, built in 1923, is an Italian Renaissance mansion that continues to be a romantic setting for special vacations and celebrations, especially weddings and honeymoons.

Victoria is located on Vancouver Island, off the west coast of BC, Canada. To travel to the Island, check with BC Ferries and find scheduled sailings and make reservations. BC Ferries serves up to 46 ports of call on 25 routes throughout coastal British Columbia.
